Shokkikan
About Our Shop
Shokkikan
— where tableware is treasured, and hearts connect.
Shokkikan is a place where the spirit of cherishing tableware brings people together.
We handle a wide range of tableware—both Japanese and Western styles, from contemporary pieces to vintage and antique items. Embracing our customers' sentiment that "it’s a shame to throw things away," we aim to create new value through reuse.
Our staff, who genuinely love tableware, provide warm and attentive service, backed by expert knowledge and a keen eye for quality. From purchasing to sales, we handle everything in-house, delivering meaningful encounters with cherished pieces to all who love tableware.
Beyond being just a shop, we also serve as a community for tableware enthusiasts. Through articles about tableware, new arrivals, and videos showcasing store layouts and displays that change weekly, we offer ways to enjoy and engage with tableware on a deeper level.
Shokkikan is a place that connects tableware to the future—together with everyone who wants to cherish it, to pass it on with care, and to feel good about both letting go and finding something new.

Please note that our inventory changes frequently, and items listed may not always be available in-store.
From stunning pieces that you'll want to pick up at first glance, to unique tableware that brightens your dining table, to practical items perfect for everyday use—you’re sure to find that special favorite just for you.
We do not sell Japanese sake, cameras, or accessories. We sell whisky, brandy, and folk crafts from various countries.

Our shop
Shokkikan Koiwa Main Store
The store has been in business since around 1950, evolving through various types of operations over the years. Around 2010, we operated under the name "Recycle Zakka Takano", focusing on a variety of secondhand goods. In response to customer demand, we gradually shifted toward tableware-centered reuse, and in 2019, we adopted the clearer name "Shokkikan" and rebuilt the store into what is now a dedicated reuse tableware shop.

Once payment is made, we will hold the item for up to one week for pickup.
Can I get a discount?
We’re sorry, but we do not offer discounts on our items.
Can you wrap items as a gift?
We’re sorry, but we do not offer gift wrapping services.

We provide packing materials such as newspaper for your use.
Can you contact me when the item I’m looking for is in stock?
We’re sorry, but we are unable to provide notifications for restocked items.
Do you sell brand-new items?
Since we deal in secondhand goods, even unused items are not labeled as "new" but are sold as "unused."
Depending on storage conditions, if the outer box is damaged, we may remove the contents and sell them as unused items without the original packaging.
What do the letters like S or AB on the price tags mean?
These letters indicate the condition rank of the item:
S: Unused
A: Possibly unused
AB: Excellent condition for a used item
B: Used
C: Has noticeable damage or issues
Due to the large number of items we handle, condition ranks are displayed only on some products.
However, whether an item is unused or used is clearly indicated for all products.
Can I return an item?
We do not accept returns due to personal reasons, such as the item not matching your existing tableware.
If there is a defect (e.g., damage or missing parts), please bring the item along with the receipt within one week of purchase.
As most of our items are secondhand and one of a kind, we generally offer a refund rather than a replacement.
